FIEO welcomes and congratulates newly re-elected Modi government

Ludhiana, May 31, 2019: Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) welcomes and congratulates the newly re-elected government under the able, dynamic, charismatic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Federation also conveys its warm wishes and congratulations to the new Union Finance Minister, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman and the new Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Shri Piyush Goyal along with other Union Council of Ministers. The landslide victory and mandate given to Shri Modi should result in proactive and stable policy environment. Mr Ganesh Kumar Gupta, President, FIEO said that the new Government will have to bring back manufacturing on track to sustain exports and economy.

Mr Gupta further added that the Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has energized the overall trade and industry further assuring the continuity of reforms, stability and stronger economic growth towards a more resurgent, powerful and new India. The exporting fraternity looks forward to his continuous guidance and support encompassing economic growth, sustainable & inclusive development for all based on robust fundamentals.

FIEO Chief also said that the new Government has to further address infrastructure bottlenecks to impart competitiveness to exports. Shri Modi and his government were instrumental during their earlier tenure in bringing some of the biggest reforms in the country including the implementation of GST, Demonetisation, Improvement in Investment Climate and Ease of Doing Business besides various key achievements including the fastest growing economy and country’s merchandise exports registering an all-time high of USD 331 billion with total exports surpassing half trillion dollar mark.
Mr Gupta reiterated that in order to further give a boost to the economy, the Government has asked the ministries to prepare a list of issues that they will take up in the first 100 days in office, with a focus on efficiency, delivery systems, implementation and resolving of all pending issues urgently.
