Ludhiana, July 19, 2017: Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) Punjab Chapter organised a seminar on “INTERNATIONAL TRADE FACILITATION’’ at Ludhiana. The session was aimed at spreading awareness on various kinds of financial support & assistance offered by Government agencies and financial institutions for the promotion of international trade. Senior officials from EXIM Bank, DGFT, ECGC Ltd joined the session as key panelists and addressed various issues raised by participants.
Ms. Deepali Agarwal, General Manager, EXIM Bank of India, during her address, shared the role which EXIM Bank (Export – Import Bank of India) plays in promotion of export and how the exports can be enhanced through various schemes offered by Government of India. Ms Agarwal also added that the “EXIM Bank is the premier export finance institution of country since 1982. Govt of India brought the EXIM Bank into existence with an objective to enhance export from India and integrate countries Foreign Trade & Investments with the overall economic growth. EXIM Bank play the role of catalyst in promoting cross border trade & investments. It supports exporting community by offering products & service at all the stages of business cycle.
Ms. Kusum Singh, Regional Head, EXIM Bank, discussed financial and non- financial/ consultation schemes offered by the bank, how an entrepreneur can avail such schemes for exporting his/ her products to various countries across the world. EXIM bank also help exporters in reducing their exports related risks and also support them in execution of long term projects, as till date nearly 400 projects of worth 1 trillion US Dollars has been supported by the bank.
Mr. Satish Kumar, Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, Ludhiana Region during his address briefed the roles of DGFT in facilitation of international trade, shared various Trade facilitation Agreement signed by government of India with other countries or trading blocks & various beneficial Trade Promotion schemes formulate for export promotion and how such schemes can be availed. Mr. Vinod Kumar Soni, Assistant Manager, ECGC ltd deliberated on the role ECGC plays in strengthening the exports, right from beginning to completion of the process by covering all exports related risks through various schemes.
Mr. Gaurav Munjal, Co-Convener, FIEO Punjab State Committee, while sharing his views about the current global scenario, emphasised on the fact that the Indian organization should become more competitive in terms of their operations and executions, so as to meet the demands of overseas markets, specifically in terms of quality and delivery, as this will surely help Indian exporters in capturing fare share of global market for their products.
The session was well attended by more than 70 senior level representatives from prominent export houses from the region.
