Ludhiana, August 2, 2018: A delegation of Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO) under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO met DPS Kharbanda, New Managing Director, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation Limited and discussed the problems faced by the industries in Focal Point, Ludhiana seeking immediate attention
Basic Infrastructure of Focal Point
The Infrastructure of Focal Point is in its worst shape ever, the Roads and sewerage in the Ludhiana Focal Points (Phase I to Phase VIII) are in very bad condition and we feel ashamed to bring our domestic customers as well as foreign customers to our factories through these roads. Moreover, Female staff and Workers are showing reluctance in joining Industries established in Phase-VIII, as they feel unsafe due to poor Roads and Infrastructure. It has been observed that at least 70% of the street lights in the focal point are not working, whereas the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is paying to the contractors. We request you kindly look into the matter and do the needful, it is also advised that all the street lights should be replaced with modern day LED lights, which are not only energy efficient but also more bright.

DPS Kharbanda assured the FICO delegation that he will personally visit all the Focal Points of Ludhiana along with Municipal Commissioner Ludhiana on 10th of August 2018, and prioritize the list of improvements required, and immediately work will be assigned to the concerned department, so that the focal point’s infrastructure will be maintained on war footage.
Amongst present were Gurmeet Singh Kular President, Vipan Mittal Sr.Vice President, Vijay Mehtani, Jiwan Parbhat Jain, Gagneesh Singh Khurana and Surinderpal Singh, Jeewan Prabhat Jain and Baljeet Singh Bansal.
