FICO demanded Garbage Dump & Storm Sewer in Focal Points
Ludhiana, July 9, 2018: A delegation of Industries under the leadership of S.Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO met Shri Jaskiran Singh IAS Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and Ms.Poonam Preet Kaur PCS Zonal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, and discussed the problems faced by the industry, that needs immediate attention and action from Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. • Basic Infrastructure of Focal Point • The Infrastructure of Focal Point should be on Priority because the Roads and sewerage in the Ludhiana Focal Points are in very bad condition and we feel ashamed to bring our domestic customers as well as foreign customers to our factories through these roads. Moreover, Female staff and Workers are showing reluctance in joining Industries established in Phase-VIII, as they feel unsafe due to poor Roads and Infrastructure. The delegation demanded that the DPR of the 138 KM Road project of the focal point has already been approved, and work should be started as soon as possible so as to facilitate the industry. • Charges for Extraction of Water from Submersibles in Focal Points • MSME Sector is going through a phase of recession and change over, and in this crucial period, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has imposed the Charges on Extraction of Water from submersibles to the industry, the imposed charges are on retro respective prospect and are applicable from 2010, which is totally unjustified as industry does not have the water supply from Municipal Corporation in Focal Point. Moreover Industry is already paying disposal charges on water, as well as water and sewerage charges to Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. Moreover, we are also paying charges to Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society for water treatment and transportation. You are requested to roll back these charges with immediate effect. • Garbage Dumps & Green Belt of Focal Point • It is unfortunate to state that they are not any designated garbage dumps in all the phases of focal points in Ludhiana, which is resulting in scattered garbage along sides roads in focal point, and ultimately destroying the green belt along sides of roads in Focal Points, we request you that there should be at least 6 designated garbage dumps in focal points of Ludhiana, which will not only solve the problem of scattered garbage in focal point but also it will help to preserve the green belt of the areas. • Storm Sewer • None of the strom sewers are in working condition in focal point and elsewhere in the city, which is resulting in water logging's in rainy days, till it has rained only twice in Ludhiana, and huge water logging could be easily observed. We request you to kindly look into the matter and get the strom sewer drainage lay for Ludhiana Industrial areas and the city. • Street Lights • It has been observed that at least 70% of the street lights in the focal point are not working, whereas the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is paying to the contractors. We request you kindly look into the matter and do the needful, it is also advised that all the street lights should be replaced with modern day LED lights, which are not only energy efficient but also more bright. Ms.Poonam Preet Kaur PCS Zonal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ludhiana instructed the concerned officers to immediately get the sewers cleans, and remove the water logging's on roads in focal point so that the mobility of traffic should become normal, she also instructed to clean the sewers for proper drainage of water.
