FICO delegation meets Municipal Commissioner Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 11, 2014: A delegation of Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organisations  (FICO), Ludhiana under the presidentship of Gurmeet Singh kular met Pardeep Aggarwal,   Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana regarding  the problems being faced by the industry.

On being raised the issue of sewerage sharing charges, the delegation was assured by the Municipal Commissioner Ludhiana (MCL) that industry established before 1992 will be exempted and after that prevailing rate of that year will be imposed. Only illegal connections will have to pay at Rs.896569.

MCL was also apprised about pathetic condition of infrastructure in focal point and industrial areas.  He was requested to visit these areas. 

Delegates also raised the issue of garbage dumps near Dholewal Bridge, Vishivkarma Park and also near container freight station. It was told that these dumps were proving a great hindrance in the vehicular traffic. It was demanded to get these dumps removed with immediate effect.

On the issue of property tax, delegates sought that MCL should to finalise the rates so that industry may deposit property tax for the year 2014-15.

It was also demanded to allow gates in the industrial focal point to protect from burglaries and thefts. Commissioner assured that they will allow industry to erect the gates but that can be closed from 11 pm to 5 am.

Rajeev Jain  (Secretary), Balbir Singh Mankoo (finance secretary) and Satnam Singh Makkar (President Dhandari Industrial Welfare Association) were included in the delegation.
