Ludhiana, July 25, 2018: A delegation of Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization (FICO) comprising chairman K.K.Seth, Gurmeet Singh Kular President and Rajeev Jain Secretary met Sukhchain Singh, Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, and discussed in details about the transporters strike.
Supporting the demands of All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC), the local transport associations of Ludhiana too went on indefinite strike from Friday. No transporters will be accepting any goods for delivery till the strike is over. The strike is outcome of failed meetings between government and the representatives of transport bodies to bring diesel under GST and non fulfilment of their other demands. Some of the anti-social elements are stopping and damaging the private commercial vehicles of the industry.
Sukhchain Singh IPS Commissioner of Police Ludhiana instructed his Deputy Commissioners that If anybody will try to stop or damage the private commercial vehicle, immediately a case will be registered against him and required action will be taken.
Kular urged the Members to inform the nearest police station, if their commercial vehicles are stopped or damaged so that the uninterrupted movement of private commercial vehicles in the city can be carried out.
