FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) to launch its 15th FLO Chapter in holy city Amritsar on April 23

Chandigarh/Ludhiana,  April 17, 2018:  FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), the women business wing of the Federation of Indian chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI)   is widening its reach to various regions across the nation and creating a niche as a pan- India organization for women empowerment. FLO headquartered in New Delhi has 14 chapters set-up across India, representing over 6000 women entrepreneurs and professionals.


FLO President, Pinky Reddy said, "To accelerate women's participation in the process of economic development, the first step is to develop and promote entrepreneurship among women and for this concerted effort is required from the industry, government and the society. And the second and the most important step is for the women themselves to discover their talent and unleash the entrepreneur within. FLO plays a crucial tool in sensitizing and educating the women, empowering them and bringing them to the forefront."


She added, “FLO has already made its presence felt in the state of Punjab, with the Ludhiana Chapter. With so much enthusiasm in store, Amritsar is a strategic choice for the 2nd chapter in Punjab with several dynamic and successful women entrepreneurs from the region showing keen interest in joining hands with FLO and taking the organization to greater heights. FLO endeavors to promote women entrepreneurs and professionals and assist women entrepreneurs to grow them professionally in the State and the launch of this Chapter will help bring existing entrepreneurs, potentials entrepreneurs and other professionals under the FLO umbrella.”


“While FLO wants its presence in each and every state of India the exuberance of the women of Amritsar could not be ignored and it made it a strategic choice for a second Chapter in the state of Punjab,” she added.


She further said, “We will also work to empower women though skill development, livelihood generation, nurturing and helping establish entrepreneurs, creating national and international market linkages and securing livelihoods for craftswomen. I look forward to work collectively towards nurturing the new chapter.”


Maharani Preneet Kaur, former Union minister and MP will be the Chief Guest and deliver keynote speech. Ms Farah Khan Eminent Bollywood Choreographer along with Deepa Sahi, cine star of Maya Memsahib fame will be Guest of Honour .The major highlight of the launching ceremony will be interactive session with Ms Farah Khan to be moderated by Ms Vinita Bimbhet, Past President FLO and President Pinky Reddy.


Ms Gowri Bansal will take up the mantle as the Chairperson of Amritsar Chapter along with Arushi Verma as Sr. Vice Chairperson,  Manjot Dhillon as Vice Chairperson , Dr. Surangma Sharma as Secretary , Shikha Sareen as Treasurer and Ms Himani Arora as  Joint Treasurer.
