Ludhiana, November 27, 2017: About 200 women, entrepreneurs, owners of businesses and professionals from various fields of endeavour from across the nation converged in Industrial hub Ludhiana to attend the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) Interstate Meet today.

FLO’s , The women business wing of the Federation of Indian chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Interstate meet , an annual feature organized by the different chapters in various parts of the country is being hosted by FLO’s Ludhiana Chapter at Ludhiana, Punjab for the first time.

About 200 FLO members from Delhi and 13 pan-India Chapters – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow- Kanpur, Ludhiana, Mumbai North East and Pune are attending the Meet.

The Interstate Meet was today inaugurated by FLO National President Ms Vasvi Bharat Ram along with an Exhibition titled “Vintage Punjab ” - An expo, showcasing the local art and culture. The interstate spread over Three days includes an extraordinary amalgamation of intellectually stimulating discussions, entertainment and networking as also a rare blend of learning sessions, members bonding over lunches and dinners.

“The Interstate Meet is a common platform for experience sharing showcasing, mentoring & networking of our dynamic pan-India members. Our objective is to bring together women entrepreneurs and professionals from Delhi and 13 Chapters across India and provide a perfect milieu for exchange of ideas and meeting of the minds. Our endeavour is to develop the wisdom to lead; coming together as strong voice for and by women.” Said Ms Vasvi Bharat Ram, President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) speaking on the occasion.

“Ludhiana - the industrial centre of northern India, which was referred to as India's Manchester by the BBC, i perhaps the apt place for this meet. The city exerts a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research and education. When it comes to competitive entrepreneurship, women in Ludhiana have grabbed a significant foothold in various industries. With an array of intellectually stimulating conversations, succinct discussions and the most fascinatingly arranged series of social events with traditional Punjabi cuisines, the Interstate Meet is not only a wonderful networking opportunity for pan-India members but also a platform for an exciting confluence of exchanging best practices from all corners of the nation .” said Ms Bharat Ram.

A very thought-provoking discussion is likely to be organized with Shri Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister of Local Government, Tourism, Cultural Affairs, Archives and Museums, Punjab as part of the interstate meet . An interaction on the Business of Food, with one of the pioneers of women entrepreneurship in Ludhiana, Rajni Bector- Founder of Cremica was an eye-opener and inspiration for the members about how grit, determination, innovation and risk taking can create a successful business empire.

In the evening Women Entrepreneur awards were given to Soumya Dada, Tina Nagpal, Vani S Thapa , Swastika Sobti , Mandeep Pahwa and Jeena Saharan all from Punjab.

Another major highlight of the Three day Intersate meet will be a very thought-provoking discussion on women entrepreneurs and its challenges is being organized with Mrs Tanvir Sachdev and Mr Parneet Sachdev , Principal Director of Income Tax , Punjab and Jammu Kashmir , A Women entreprenuer award ceremony likely to be presided over by Shri Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister of Local Government, Tourism, Cultural Affairs, Archives and Museums, Punjab to felicitate and celebrate Young Women entrepreneurs of Punjab .

The Women business delegation will also be visting Punjab Agricultural University The 2 day extravaganza will include an offsite visit to Amritsar & Wagah Border.
