New Delhi, September 13, 2016 FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) , the industry body's women wing and Online marketplace Shoclues.com have signed an agreement to kick-start the "Women Entrepreneurship (WE) in e-commerce" initiative.

A day long workshop to train Women entrepreneurs and artisans how to go online was organised today at Federation house New Delhi and both FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) and Shopclues. Similar workshops are planned in various cities across the country including Jaipur, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune.About 150 women entrepreneurs including artisans attended the workshop.

“ As per the agreement signed between FLO and Clues Network Pvt. Ltd, Gurgaon (www.shopclues.com) for e-marketing of products of the beneficiaries of FLO the Shopclues will educate, enable and empower women these entrepreneurs / members of Flo to use the online platform for exploring avenues to increase their business and enhanced market access.” said FICCI Ladies Organsiation (FLO) President Vinita Bimbhet.

"India is the fastest growing e-commerce market in the region and we need to further encourage women to foray into this area. This initiative will facilitate the process of women empowerment by providing them a digital platform to promote their businesses," said FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) President Vinita Bimbhet.

"Through this initiative, Ficci FLO and Shopclues will enable digital inclusion for hundred’s women entrepreneurs and artisans, affiliated to FICCI FLO chapters across 15 locations in India. As per the MoU FLO and Shopclues is organizing organised a Workshop on ‘Empowering Women Through E-Commerce' on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in New Delhi There is an enormous opportunity to market products made by women - at small or medium scale, to be sold in wider markets through the E Commerce. The objective of the workshop is to facilitate the process of women empowerment by providing them a digital platform to promote their businesses. “said Ms Bimbhet .

"Shopclues having base of about 50 lakh customers will focus more on Indian traditional and ethnic products to promote make in India.It has opened a full Indimarket page on its portal. This will help in promoting Small manufacturers and artisans. It has tied up with Cottage Industries of India to market its traditional products " said Mr Prateek Swarup, Associate Director, Shopclues while speaking on the occasion.
