Ferozepurites could not fulfill their dream to celebrate International Yoga Day with Modi at Chandigarh

Ferozepur, June 21, 2016: The yoga lovers of this border town who could not fulfill their dream to celebrate International Yoga Day (IYD) with the Prime Minister Narender Modi at Chandigarh on Tuesday, due to the change in the programme of participation of far-off districts, got a chance to commemorate this special day at the ‘zero line’ near Indo-Pak border at Hussainiwala.
On this occasion Kamal Sharma, former Punjab BJP Chief said that the Yoga is an ancient system of our country and by adopting Yoga we can build healthy and crime free society.
Speaking about the importance of yoga, Sharma said, yoga is one of the best means for natural prevention from disease like sugar, obesity, blood pressure, heart and mental. He said that the importance of IYD is to build healthy nation by creating awareness about the yoga exercises.
By himself participating in the yoga exercise on IYD occasion, DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur said that Yoga is a symbol of our body, mental and spiritual healthiness.
He said, “By adopting the yoga, besides health point of view, we could be economically strong also as we save a lot of money being spent on medicines for various diseases”. Apart from this, there is also an improvement in mutual harmony and moral values in our society, he added. He motivated the participants especially the young generation, to make yoga a part of our daily life for healthy living both physically and mentally.
