 Ferozepur, December 10, 2012: The Computerised Signal System by the railways is likely to be completed by the end of April next, which was started about one and a half year back.

Giving this information, N. C. Goyal, Divisional Railway Manager, Ferozepur said, in Ferozepur Section, there is ‘kanta’ system upto Lohian Khas Junction with the result the contact with the control room is disconnected on reaching the train at this station.  Now this track is also being linked with the computerised system for which the track changing work has been started to replace with the new wiring.

With the start of new signal system, the staff put on ‘kanta system’ would be utilised in some other departments.

Goyal said, the target of Ferozepur Railway Division is to link all the stations in the division with the work to link on the new computerised system was started about one and a half year back. With the start of new computerised signal system, the Ferozepur-Delhi, Ludhiana, Jalalandhar and Fazilka rail sections will be linked with the new signal system. 

The new computerised signal system is likely to bring efficiency in the running of trains and avoid inconvenience to the public with regard to running of trains punctually.
