Ferozepur Police busts Fake Driving License Gang

Ferozepur, October 22, 2014: Ferozepur Police achieved a yet another major success in few days and nabbed two members of a gang, which is involved in making fake driving license and RCs.

Sukhwant Singh Gill, SSP, Ferozepur while addressing the media persons said that the police had received inputs that two persons named Jasvir Kumar aka Bittu, resident of Ferozepur City and Pawan Kumar aka Punnu, resident of Village Ali Ke were allegedly involved in making fake driving license, RCs for stolen vehicles which they were used to sell to innocent people. Last evening, the police party led by Vibhor Sharma, DSP, Ferozepur City, raided on their residence and took them under their custody.

Not only this, the police also confiscated one Tata Indigo Car (without number), two motorcycles (without number), six fake number plates, cover notes of various insurance companies, a rubber stamp of DTO office, fake identity cards of police and transport department besides 120 fake driving license and RCs.

The SSP did not rule out the involvement of few insiders from Transport Department and assured that the police are investigating the matter and sooner or later they will be nabbed. The SSP said that no one will be spared irrespective of their post and stature. He said that he is certain that few big names shall be involved in this scam and nabbed persons might be a part of an inter-state gang, functioning from Ferozepur.

He said that both Jasvir Kumar and Pawan Kumar are already booked under various cases. The police have booked them now under various sections 260, 379, 411, 413, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 IPC at Ferozepur City Police Station.

It is pertinent to mention here that on October 15, the Ferozepur police had busted an Inter-State ATM robbers gang which used to rob ATMs in the state.
