Ferozepur, August 2, 2019: A gang of vehicle lifters has been busted by the police and two cars, a motorbike besides arms and ammunition has been recovered from them.

Giving details, Viveksheel Soni, SSP, Ferozepur said that two persons identified as Karamjit Singh alias Karma, resident of Valtoha and Lovedeep Singh, resident of Village Singhpura in Bhikhiwind were nabbed at one of the naka in Makhu yesterday.

The SSP said that the Honda City car which they were driving was stolen last month near Zira Sadar area regarding which a case was also registered at Zira Sadar police station.

“The documents which were produced by the accused were fake. During the checking a pistol (.32 bore) and five rounds were also recovered from them”, said SSP.

A case under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 411, 473, 399, 120-B IPC and 25, 27 Arms Act was registered at Makhu Police Station.

The SSP said that as per the information provided by the accused, another car which was looted from Moga area last month was recovered and two other accused Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy Sekhon, resident of Harike and Prabhjot Singh alias Prabhu were nabbed. “A case under sections 379-B was registered at Makhu police station in this case last month.

The SSP said that one other person identified as Gurpartap Singh alias Gora, a resident of Village Panjwar in Jhabal was nabbed at a naka near Makhu area. “Gora admitted that he had stolen the bike from Makhu area last month. In this case also, an FIR was registered at Makhu police station. Another case under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 411, 473, 399, 120-B IPC was registered against accused Gurpartap at Makhu police station.

The SSP said that the accused will be produced in the court for remand for further investigation”, said SSP
“Besides these accused, the police has booked four of their accomplices identified as Gurpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Vikramjit Singh and Paramjit Singh.

A manhunt has been launched to nab these accused”, added SSP.
