SEVERAL FAKE ID CARDS RECOVERED FROM THE CONMAN Ferozepur, August 27, 2018: The sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence Wing has nabbed a “Natwarlal” who used to swindle people on the pretext of providing government job. The officials from the CI wing have also recovered several fake ID cards belonging to police, income tax department and media from his possession. Giving details Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu, AIG Counter Intelligence Ferozepur said that on May 10, 2018, a case was registered against Balvir Singh, resident of Village Arniwala at State Special Operation Cell at Fazilka (Case number 44 Dated 10.05.2018 under sections 420, 120-B, 465, 467, 471 IPC). “During the checking of Balvir’s house, the police officials recovered Rs.2 lakh which he had kept to pay Pinder Sodhi alias Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, a resident of village Mehalpur Haweli in Hoshiarpur district to save him from the clutches of police in of the cases lodged against him under NDPS Act. Following this information the police nabbed Pinder from Ludhiana and a Tata Nexa Car (PB 07 B P 2096) was also recovered from him. When searched, several fake ID cards belonging to Punjab police, Income Tax Department and media were also recovered from him. When investigated, it came to fore that Pinder is a “conman” and used to swindle people with the help of these cards. He used to lure people by saying that he has links with top class officials and he can provide government job with the help of his links”, said AIG Sidhu. “During the investigation, Pinder accepted that around 16 cases of swindling have already registered against him and he swindled around 4 crore from his victims belonging to different places including Fazilka, Ludhiana, Mohali, Samrala, Panchkula, Ajnala, Mansa and Ferozepur. He had an ID card of a private news channel and one of an ASI of Punjab police which he used to influence his target”, AIG further added. The AIG said that the accused also accepted that he has earned huge property including two bungalows with his “skills” and has given around fifty lakh to the people on interest also.
