Ferozepur Cantonment Board residents stage protest

Ferozepur, August 1, 2014: Residents of Ferozepur cantonment went on to streets on Thursday after few of the residents had reportedly received notices from Cantonment Board declaring few of the construction in the cantonment board totally illegitimate.
Thousands of agitated and apprehensive residents assembled at a local temple and raised their voice against the Cantonment Board’s decision. They later received the support from Joginder Singh Jindu, MLA of SAD from Ferozepur Rural Area. Jindu, too condemned the Cantonment Board’s “pick and chose” policy.
The agitated people then went on to streets and reached Deputy Commissioner DPS Kharbanda’s residence and handed over a memorandum to them. The Deputy Commissioner gave assurance that the situation shall be dealt in accordance with law.
