Fear of rain haunts organisers of global investors’ meet in Dharamshala
Dharamshala, November 6, 2019: Although the weather in Himachal remains dry till today but the MeT warning of rain/thundershowers at most places in middle hills and rain/snow at many places in upper hills of Himachal on 7th and 8th November has threatened organisers of “Rising Himachal Global Investors Meet”, which is to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 7th November at Police Stadium Dharamshala. The chief guest of the closing ceremony of this event on 8th shall be Home Minister Amit Shah. The organisers have given the area a waterproof covering, but the venue is an unpaved ground, that is why the fear of rain will continue to haunt the organisers throughout the event. The sky is overcast in Dharamshala even today. On 15th September, a T-20 cricket match was washed out in Dharamshala due to a sharp spell of afternoon thundershowers. All the top authorities of this organisation including CM of Himachal Pradesh has visited and prayed at The Indru Nag Temple, the local rain God for the smooth conduct of this global event. Indru Nag is an ancient temple about 4-Km from main city of Dharamshala, built by local villagers and is dedicated to Snake King. People offer prayers to the Indru Nag and they strongly believe that this God saves them from the natural disasters, especially heavy rains.
