FDP on use of machine learning and optimization to solve real life problems
All the faculty members were delighted to have Dr Vijay Mago for this program Jalandhar: The Department of Computer Science, DAV College, Jalandhar organized a Faculty Development Program on ‘Use of Machine Learning and Optimization to solve real life problems’. The purpose of this program was to familiarize teachers with the novel and most vibrant areas of research in Machine Learning particularly related to Data and Text Analysis. Dr. Vijay Mago, Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science, Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada was the distinguished speaker for the program. He introduced faculty members about his research laboratory in the Department of Computer Science at Lakehead University and major projects funded by NSERC, SSHRC, MITACS, ONCAT and many more. He briefly discussed about his team of students, faculty, and researchers and focused on conducting research that can be applied to real-world social and economic problems. He further enlightened the participants with different models of Big data, Health informatics, Data and Text Analysis. All the faculty members were delighted to have Dr Vijay Mago for this program as he is not only the alumnus of this college but also the faculty member from 2002-2010. All the participants showed enthusiasm and desire to learn new technological changes in computer science. Dr Nischay Bahl (Head of the Department), Prof Monika Chopra, Dr. Rajeev Puri, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Dr. Kawal Jeet, Prof. Leekha Jindal and all other staff members were present during this program.
