Ludhiana, July 10, 2019: Fastener Manufacturers Association of India president and Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society CEO Narinder Bhamra has written to Kusumjit Sidhu, Chairperson, Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission, regarding PSERC move to provide relief to Industry by allowing billet heaters having contract demand up to100 KVA shall not be considered as power intensive unit (PIU) load.
In an email message sent to PSERC chairperson, Bhamra has stated that there had appeared a news-item in the media regarding PSERC move to provide relief to Industry by allowing billet heaters having contract demand up to100 KVA shall not be considered as power intensive unit (PIU) load. “On behalf of entire Industry I take this opportunity to thank your good self for providing a relief to MSE’s & sincerely hope that your decision will definitely eradicate air pollution & AQI level will definitely improve”.
“This is to submit that please extend general category to units having load up to 500 KW. The units having 500 KW load will be using billet heaters up to 100 KW only because the remaining load is utilised in forging & machining process. Thus nobody can harass MSE’s that what is the actual load of billet heaters as sometimes it can lead to malpractice by checking authority that billet heaters are having load up to 100 KW or more. If we allow general category up to 500 KW load then usage of billets heaters will be around 100 KW only & Industry can operate smoothly”, added Bhamra.
He hoped that PSERC will take note of their concern and allow Industry using billet heaters as General Industry up to 500 KW. He further hoped for looking forward to PSERC chairperson’s favourable response in the matter.
He said according to the media reports, the PSERC in its recent tariff order for 2019-20 has decided that henceforth billet heaters having contract demand up to 100 KVA shall not be considered as power intensive unit (PIU) load. Billet heating systems are basically induction heaters used to heat metals prior to making hand tools through high-efficiency, electro-magnetically heating coils used in all forms of induction heating heavy industry.
