Ludhiana, January 11, 2013: In a representation sent to the Punjab chief minister, Parkash Singh Badal, Badish Jindal, National President, FASII, has demanded that all trade promotion practices with Pakistan be stopped in view of the killings of two Indian shoulders by Pakistani Army.

Jindal believed that the incident has unmasked the real face of Pakistan before the whole world. “Even after our all the best efforts the Pakistan can’t change its mentality”, he remarked.

Adding, he said even if they consider the trade statics, the figures are so shocking that after their efforts the export of Pakistan to India is increasing whereas our export to Pakistan is decreasing.

In the year 2010-11, Indian export to Pakistan was Rs. 9,254 crores which decreased to Rs. 7,448 crores in the year 2011-12, he said, adding, and in the year 2012-13 as per data upto September , 2012 it remains constant.

“Whereas in the year 2010-11 the Pakistan’s export to India was Rs. 1,514 crores which increases with an 27% to 1917 crores in the year 2011-12, further in the year 2012 upto September it increases to Rs. 1,830 crores just in six months with an increase of 90%”, he revealed.

He said strategically Pakistan is making all efforts to increase its exports to India whereas decreasing the imports from India.

He further apprised the chief minister that the total Indian export to Pakistan is just 0.51% of the total export share of India which is just ignorable.

“Under such circumstances it is ardently requested that Punjab must stop all the trade promotion activities of Pakistan with India”, he urged.

The copy of the representation has also been sent to the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
