Ferozepur, October 2, 2016: DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur has stated that the farmers whose lands are located on other side (zero line) of fence, they could go beyond the fence for doing their routine agricultural works while following already set norms for the same.
He made this statement on Sunday to clarify the situation in view of the prevailing tension on the Indo-Pak Border.
He said BSF has informed in this connection that the farmers would not be stopped to do their works of caring, harvesting of the crops and sowing next crop beyond the fence following all the set rules and regulations. Still, these farmers should follow all the directions of local administration and BSF from time to time, he said, adding the government would purchase every grain of the farmers. He asked the farmers not to harvest the standing crops having moisture content.
