Faculty Development Programme on “Quality Teaching Strategies for Outcome Based Education” inaugurated at DAVIET

Jalandhar, January 2, 2018: DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar inaugurated a two-week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Quality Teaching Strategies for Outcome Based Education’ on Jan 1, 2018. The major topics of discussion throughout this programme are relevance of Institutional ranking-NIRF, course outcomes, program outcomes, evaluation methodology, effective teaching strategies, role of self esteem in quality teaching, curriculum & teaching-learning processes, teaching pedagogies & Classroom management, instructional methodologies, role of ICT in technical education, role of communication for effective teaching, effective body language for teaching, excellence through OBE and so on. As many as 60 faculty members are participating in this programme.

Dr. Sonia Chawla, Convener, FDP, welcomed the participants and speakers of the day. She introduced the audience with different aspects to be covered under this two-week programme. She threw light on different speakers of this Faculty Development Programme. Sh. Surinder Seth, Editor, Dainik Bhaskar, threw light on vision, mission and quality education. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET, discussed some aspects of quality teaching strategies for outcome based education. Dr. Akshay Girdhar, Prof. and Controller of Examination, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, discussed the outcome based education and threw light on its benefits. He also discussed various aspects of continuous quality improvement. He focused on Graduate Attributes of NBA for UG Engineering.
The participants got benefit of the edifying lectures of the day.
