Extension Lecture on Why Mathematics: Let Us Think

Jalandhar, September 20, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar's PG Department of Mathematics organized an Extension Lecture on ''Why Mathematics: Let Us Think". The resource person for the event was Dr.Mamta Gulati from Department of Mathematics, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala. Explaining the importance of mathematics in our day to day life, Dr.Mamta introduced Mathematics as the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. She also gave detailed explanation about the significant contribution of Mathematics in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography, Cosmology, Google ranking, Traffic Flow, Economics, Banking and various Clinical sectors. The talk proved to be very fruitful and informative for the students as they got to learn the intricacies of Mathematics. Principal Prof.Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the department for organizing such informative lectures and averred that these type of lectures motivates the students towards the discipline.
