A three-day educational exchange programme of the students of Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra concluded at the Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni. A total of 43 students of B Sc Agriculture, B Voc Agri Tech and B Voc Greenhouse Technology visited the university as part of the exchange. They were accompanied by Dr Sanjay Yadav, Dr Akbar Ali, Dr Varsha Dixit and other staff members.
The exchange programme was a part of the tie-up between the University and the Dayalbagh Educational Institute. Under this tie-up, the students of both institutions undertake exchange programme and learn about the various activities being carried out. During the tour, the students were apprised about the various activities of the University and the agricultural and horticultural practices followed by the farmers of the state. The students also visited the dry flower laboratory, hi-tech floriculture farm, kiwi orchards and also interacted with the scientists and the experts of the university. The group also undertook an excursion to Jatoli temple.
Addressing the students, Dr Rakesh Gupta, Dean College of Horticulture, said, “Such exchange programmes are essential for the overall development and give the students from both institutions a chance to learn about different academic and research environments and develop a better understanding of the world.” He advised the students to make the most of the opportunity to learn about new activities.
In the month of December, a 42-member student group from UHF had visited Dayalbagh under a six-day exchange programme as part of their Rural Awareness Work Experience (RAWE) programme.
