Chandigarh, August 26, 2016: Sh Vijay Sampla State President Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab appointed Dr Baldev Raj Chawla as President of Atankwad Pidit Parivaar Sahyata Samiti Punjab. A samiti formed by BJP Punjab during terrorism days for rehabilitation of terrorist victim families.
Dr Chawla is a senior leader of BJP and had been the Health Minister and Dy Speaker of Punjab.
Dr Chawla shot into prominence when he was appointed as President of Rashtriya Suraksa Samiti Punjab and fought against terrorism in Punjab for continuous 12-13 years. He fought for the rights of terrorist victim families and worked day & night for their rehabilitation. He led several anti-terrorism yatras in Punjab.
Dr Chawla is also Member of three member committee of Shaeed Parivaar Fund with ex CM Capt Amarinder Singh and Mangat Ram Pasla CPI as other two members.
