Ex-ITBP veterans’ Association meeting held
Ludhiana, October 24, 2019: A get-together meeting of ex-ITBP veterans’ All India ex-ITBPF Personnel Welfare Association (AIEPWA) was held at ITBP campus, Badhowal on Thursday. The president of AIEPWA, ITBP Inspector General (retd.) M S Bhurji presided over the meeting. Among others general secretary of Association, ITBP Inspector General (retd.) S. Kabul Singh Bajwa and Mohinder Singh, Commandant (retd.), ITBP who is also a renowned climber and mountaineer award winner were also presented. Speaking during occasion, MS Bhurji said that AIEPWA has become a melting pot of ideas and endeavors to ameliorate the status and honouor of veterans Himveers, and to channelize their intellect and expertise in the service of the nations. He further said that AIEPWA in a short span has become a forum and platform to share ideas and information to bolster brotherhood hood and espirit-de-corps for mutual benefits. Our endeavors to inculcate confidence, strength and aptitude among members to live a life of dignity , honour and reasonable comfort, he asserted. Commandant Mohinder Singh said that we have planned to reach deep in Punjab villages to extend humanity services for disabled , bedridden, widows and community which is restrained due to old age and non-awareness of pensioners rights. Harpal Singh, treasurer talked about how could retired veterans could contribute towards national building and welfare of their brethren and dependents. During meeting various welfare schemes of the department and govt of India, initiatives and achievements of Association were also discussed. Oldest members of association Deputy Commandant (retd.) Mehal Singh, who joined ITBP in 1962 was also felicitated during occasion. AIEPWA which celebrated its first anniversary on June 1, was registered on April 25,2018. Its’ a maiden initiative of a few retired ITBPF personnel and aims to unite the ex-ITBPF Himveers to work constructively in the welfare of their brethren, and their widows and dependents to ameliorate their well-being and status. Its an only national-level organization of ITBPF ex-servicemen, which includes members of all ranks from all over India.
