Ludhiana, June 20, 2016: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has appreciated the move of municipal corporation to paint graffiti in different part of the city with a purpose to spread message of love and brotherhood. But it is condemnable that the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has demanded removal of graffiti of Che Guevara from the Samrala Chowk.
In a statement released here today youth leader and member of the District Executive Committee of CPI Kuldeep Singh Binder and Com Ram Pratap, Com Randhir Singh Dhira, Er. Kuldeep Singh have said that the demand of the BJYM is motivated at the behest of the RSS who did not utter a single word against the British during the freedom struggle. They had in fact connived with them. Their main icon Damodar Savarkar had begged mercy from the British for release from the Andeman jail and through a letter written to them assured of full cooperation with them while Bhagat Singh and Kartar Singh Sarabha sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation. Che Guevara, like Bhagat Singh, is a world renowned revolutionary who struggled for the cause of the down trodden people and the oppressed nations. His pictures can be seen around the world and are an inspiration for the youth. Likewise monument after Bhagat Singh is there in Pakistan as well. While the revolutionaries serve their own country they represent the voice of the people around the world. The commissioner municipal corporation should not succumb to the pressure of the communal outfits and ensure safety of the graffiti of Che Guevara.
On behalf of the Kamagatamaru Yadgari Committee Com Gurnam Singh Sidhu, Com Jasdev Lalton, Com Kuldeep Singh Advocate also demanded safety of the graffiti of Che Guevara.
