Ludhiana, June 24, 2017: The elections of Ludhiana Press Club have been deferred, said a communication sent to its members through an email message late this evening.
The message sent by the Club’s Election Committee to its members, reads that “Ludhiana Press Club stands by the earlier communication sent to you earlier by the election committee of Ludhiana Press Club, elections of the club which were scheduled to be held on 25th June, 2017 (Sunday) have been deferred.

The candidates who had deposited the election fees can take a refund after contacting any of the election committee members.

Attached along with this letter is the notice released earlier on 22nd June by election committee and the list of people eligible to claim back their refund (see the list).”

The June 22 notice reads as under: Considering the unruly behaviour shown by some of the journalists towards the election committee and at the same time considering the sentiments and willingness of other media associations/ groups/ individuals to join and take part in the process of elections of Ludhiana press club (LPC), the election committee of club has decided to defer the elections of LPC which were scheduled on June 25, 2017 untill further notice.

The final date for membership drive, eligibility norms will be announced in due course after which no member will be entertained. It may be mentioned here that this notice has been issued under signatures of Rajesh Bhambi, Ashwani Jaitly and Parmeshwar Singh.
