Election to The Sutlej Club, Ludhiana on April 24

Ludhiana, April 19, 2016: The election to the prestigious The Sutlej Club, Ludhiana will be held on April 24. Polling will begin at 9 am and conclude at 5 pm in the club premises.
According to available information, the election will be held for the posts of vice president, general secretary, joint secretary, financial secretary, cultural secretary, bar secretary, mess secretary and sports secretary. Besides, election will also be held for the posts of three executive committee members.
Enquiries reveal that the election schedule has already been displayed on the club notice board.
The Sutlej Club, Ludhiana had begun as an Officers’ Club during the British regime. Since its beginning, the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana is the Club’s permanent President in his ex-officio capacity.
Sources reveal that the elections have become very expensive over the period. With a view to cope with the situation, many new features have been incorporated in the constitution of the Club in the past.
Interestingly, to keep in accordance with the changing times representation to ladies is provided in the management. During this year’s election too, of the three elected executive members atleast one will be lady member.
