Popular on-screen Jodi - Siddhant Karnick and Drashti Dhami who play the roles of Rana ji and Gayatri in Zee TV's immensely popular historical show Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani have been a hit with the viewers for their intense romantic chemistry. Audiences have seen the star-crossed lovers surpass various obstacles, ranging from brother Chandravadan Singh Deo and his wife Kokila to Prince Avdesh Singh Chauhan and sister Rageshwari to Ranaji's former wife Rani Sulakshana Devi to the evil Badi Rani Maa - only to be with each other. However, destiny clearly has other plans for the royal couple as the show is now building up towards a dramatic climax that will first see the death of Rana ji at the hands of the hired merecenary - Warrior Kaal (Chetan Hansraj) and soon thereafter, Gayatri will deliver Ranaji's child, only to succumb to death in a heroic Jhansi Ki Rani style combat with her husband;s killer Kaal. The show is now on the brink of an 7 year leap and an all-new chapter and will bid adieu to its lead protagonists on 2nd May.

I am sad that my journey on the show is drawing to a close, as I loved working with the entire cast and crew. But, every show has a certain broader plot and progression. Siddhant Karnick says, 'I am extremely delighted that I played this iconic role of Rana Ji which has become a rage and it's good to leave on a high. I am happy that it will be ending on this note. Even as the show takes an 7 year leap, viewers can look forward to veteran actor Chetan Hansraj in an all new avatar in the role of the tribal man Kaal.

The coming week on Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani will leave you on the edge of your seats with developments that will turn the world of the show upside down. With Kaal having killed Rana ji in Swarna's marriage, Gayatri and Raj mata manage to escape with Rana ji's body. Gayatri will give birth to Rana ji's daughter while she raises an army to fight back the evil Kaal and get her Kingdom of Amerkot back. In what will be a high-voltage sequence bound to give you goose-bumps, Gayatri will charge away at the enemy with her daughter on her back. The show will see the entry of the next generation and the war between Good and Evil will continue. Will Ranaji and Gayatri's daughter avenge her parents'death in the coming years?
