Ferozepur, February 28, 2017: Eighteen persons including two minors were produced in the Court of Vijay Kumar, JMIC in the case where members belonging to radical Sikh organization had allegedly disrupted “naam charcha” which was being organized by the members of Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda in canal colony area in Makhu block of this district on February 19.
As per information available, two minors were sent to juvenile home at Ludhiana while sixteen other were sent to 10 days judicial remand.
Out of these eighteen, eleven persons were produced in the court of Additional Civil Judge cum Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pushpinder Singh in other incident which took place at Mallanwala on 25th February where the members of radical groups and supporters of Dera Sachha Sauda had clashed over holding “Naam Charcha. The Additional Civil Judge cum Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate sent 11 persons for ten day judicial remand. It is pertinent to mention here that a separate case was lodged at Mallanwala police case.
Waryam Singh, DSP, Zira said that the police had nabbed these persons following a tip off. “We had secret information that they can try once again to spoil the peace. Taking precautions, the police has arrested them”, said DSP Zira.
