Efforts on to improve automation in industries

Ludhiana, September 3, 2012:Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) organised seminar on “Use of hydraulics and pneumatics” here today.

The event was attended by 120 Industrialists and senior staff of various units from different parts of Northern India.

Speaking on the occasion, Avtar Singh, General Secretary of the Chamber mentioned that the Chamber has been organising and conducting seminars on various issues such as Energy Efficiency, Quality and Productivity, Finance and Material Management. which are very much useful for the Industries at present, when the Industry is going through very crucial time and having lot of pressure about the cost and savings. 

Further, he revealed that during the harvesting seasons, the cost of labour increases besides shortage.  So the Chamber is making efforts to improve the Automation Process in Industries to reduce the manual working by 20%.

Upkar Singh Ahuja, Joint Secretary of the Chamber mentioned that the Chamber’s endeavor is to make Ludhiana Industries World Class in terms of Quality and Productivity.  He narrated that to attain this target automation is must at all levels.  He also quoted that labour cost is one of the most important factor amongst others.He mentioned that it is a need hour to bring awareness of use of automation in the industries which at present, is only possible through these types of trainings and seminars.   He too stated that the Chamber would also start organising Technical Summit of Robotics Automation, in near future.

The programme was held in cooperation with SMC Pneumatics (India) Pvt. Limited, Noida and Dynamic Engineers, Ludhiana. 

The faculties consisted of Sameer Mohindra, Senior Manager (Sales), Virendra Choudhary, Senior Engineer (Development) from SMC Pneumatics (India) Pvt. Ltd. And Amarjit Singh Ahluwlia, Director, Dynamics Engineers, Ludhiana. 

The live demonstration of Hydraulic and Pneumatics was also displayed.   

It was one of its kind programme in Punjab that gave extensive knowledge to the users about Hydraulics and Pneumatics.  The implementation of the knowledge taught in seminar in the Industries, will not only improve the quality and productivity, but would also reduce the cost of labour as well.
