Effigy of Ravana to be burnt with help of button of remote control

Ludhiana, October 8, 2016: The festival of Dussehra will be celebrated with great enthusiasm across the city on October 11.
However, the festival will be celebrated in a hi-tech manner at Daresi ground here as the effigy of 90-ft-tall Ravana will be burnt with the help of a remote controlled button. This year, the height of the effigy of Ravana will be 5-ft tall as compared to that of in the last year.
Enquiries reveal that the effigy of Ravana is being got prepared at a cost of around Rs.2.50 lakh. The effigy of Ravana will have ten faces and it will be put to the flames with the help of button of remote control. As such, it will be a great attraction for the spectators likely to arrive in the Daresi ground in thousands of numbers.
