Jalandhar, October 21, 2014: Cambridge Schools organised an educational trip to United States, on October 05, 2014 they began their journey and stepped on the land of USA on October 6 and were there till October 14.
The organisation believes that the world is a book and those who don’t travel read only a page. Trips are a learning experience away from the humdrum of life. They reinvigorate and freshen up life to start with a new zeal. Long classroom hours dampen teaching and learning both, so a sensory experience of tours and excursions boosts learning. Besides, these provide information because real knowledge is not possible within the four walls-it needs wider experience which trips provide and they also give the opportunity to demonstrate real life applications of the lessons learnt in the classrooms.
The children acquired limitless knowledge at USA as they visited White House, Sea World, Empire State Building and Kennedy Space Centre.
The students saw got an opportunity to have an interactive session to clarify their doubts regarding Space and Space travel, which was followed by lunch with an experienced American astronaut, Roger Coucher. He also shared his experiences as an astronaut with the students. They had a Kennedy Space Centre Bus Tour into the exciting world where they got an opportunity to visit the assembly area of vehicles used in rocket launching and also the Visitors’ Gallery. I am sure that, the tour to the Sea World has helped children get an answer to their stimulated curiosities and interests in the marine biology.
They visited the Statue of Liberty in New York. Time Square, the busy street of New York, full of vibrant screens running advertisements, and branded show rooms, was a great feast to the eyes. The children also paid tribute to the 9/11 victims at Ground Zero and visited the site for World Trade Centre.
The Universal Island of Adventures, Disney’s Hollywood Studio and Tussad’s Wax Museum left an everlasting impression on their minds and also unforgettable sweet memories.
Chairman Ajay Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Deepak Bhatia, Director Learning Wings J K Kohliand NitinKohli, Academic Director Madam Deepa Dogra appreciated the initiative taken by the Cambridge schools as these excursions other than providing the children an opportunity to solve real life problems on their own, also definitely help children become more confident, knowledgeable and independent. These trips develop skills of teamwork and camaraderie and help children realise that learning is not always an isolated experience but it is more effective in groups. Such trips are the highlight of the year for the children. They learn more about the world and also how to interact with others when they leave the sheltered environment and last but not the least are the social etiquettes that they acquire, practice and imbibe all through the trip.
