Education Minister emphasised on quality and culture based education in Himachal Pradesh
Dharamshala, November 19, 2019: In a meeting of Himachal Pradesh School Education Board here on Tuesday, the Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that it has been observed that there is a need to change the syllabus of school education, so that quality and culture based education be provided in the state. Minister said, “Syllabus has been approved to introduce Sanskrit from the second class in the Himachal schools. The syllabus of chess and yoga which was created by HP State Council of Educational Research and Training SCERT, Solan has also been approved.” Minister further added, “Nowadays many schools admit dummy students and these children go somewhere else for coaching etc, the Board of Education will constitute a surveillance committee to stop such works and if any school is found involved in such activities, its affiliation will be cancelled.” The Education Minister said that it has been decided that in exam now an invigilator shall be appointed on 25 students instead of 40. He informed that education board this time has saved Rs.3 crore in the tendering of printing paper, by purchasing it at Rs.69,000 per metric ton this year in comparison to previous years, when it was had at Rs .77,000 per metric ton. Minister said that the government is on the job to provide the needed infrastructure to each school including the extra class rooms, where ever is required on priority measures.
