EDITORIAL: Salute to Damini

The whole Nation is shocked.
Every countryman is perturbed.
Only because of the reason that the Delhi gang rape victim is no more.
Nation feels shame over the incident.  
People are seen watching the news headlines on their television sets and also through other mediums.
Majority of people are constantly associated to social network sites where they are posting their views, expressing their anger and shock.
Everyone is seen concerned with the issue.
…..Everybody feels as if the deceased rape victim was his/her daughter, sister.
This has happened for the first time after the Independence.
A countrywide mass movement is seen against the barbaric act of the rape accused.
The Delhi gang rape case was not an isolated case. There have been occurring similar cases in the past too.
But, the country men observed that it was enough. People lost their toleration power. They wanted to keep a check on such shameful incidents. They wanted complete security and protection to their sisters and daughters.
This is why people assembled voluntarily and staged massive protest not only in Delhi but in all parts across the country.  They lit candles….raise slogans…made paintings on walls, and also, started a debate. And that too without the leadership of politicians…..yes the politicians who run the Nation.
The protests staged by the youth have proved that they are united and awaken for the social cause…for the nation…and so on.
People specially the youth have shown “real” mirror to politicians of the country.
Really, people now wanted change…change in the law…a stringent law, so that nobody else should dare to repeat the incident in the future.
A strong debate has been on to make changes in the law against those indulging in heinous crimes such as rape. People want immediate action.
City Air News salutes to Damini who awakened the countrymen with her sacrifice.
We hope Damini’s sacrifice will not go waste. People will surely see a change…change in the law….and also in the mind set of people.
We strongly feel that Damini was not less than a martyr. She fought like a true soldier till her last breath.
