Ludhiana, August 23, 2012: Is “e-TRIP system” introduced in Punjab by the state government from August 10 this year, is a joke?
One may agree or not to it.
But, as far as Induction Furnace Associations of Ludhiana and Mandi Gobindgarh are concerned they consider “e-TRIP system” a joke.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, the Mandi Gobindgarh Inducction Furnace Association president Mohinder Gupta has said the new system introduced by the state government “is a joke created by bureaucracy of Punjab”.
Adding, Gupta told that the new system would not bring transparency in the existing system. Rather, it would promote “corruption”, he believed.
Induction Furnace Association of North India (Ludhiana) president KK Garg urged upon the state government to withdraw this system, otherwise, they would be constrained to intensify the ongoing struggle.
Garg told that induction furnaces of Mandi Gobindgarh were already on strike from yesterday. “Ludhiana-based induction furnaces have also started their indefinite strike from today onwards”, he announced. He told that they would hold their meeting on Monday, to further chalk out their strategy. He also sought assistance from other industries for the cause.
Further, Garg believed that the system was not foolproof and there were complete chances of misuse of password of traders by one or another reason. Besides, most of people did not have infrastructure to work under the system.
