There was also arrangement for stalls and Food Trucks offering a variety of scrumptious food for the gastronomicalpatrons.

“I have learnt in my school lessons that we celebrate Dussehra to commemorate Lord Rama’s victory over demon Ravana. I have been coming here for last three years to witness ‘Ravanadahan’. The festival inspires us to do good to all,” said Kaustav Tanwar, a 12 year old resident of DLF Gardencity.

“I am thrilled to be a part of Dussehra celebration. It was wonderful to enjoy with my friends and take break from studies,” said Gunjan Satpathy, another 11 year old resident of DLF Gardencity.

“Dussehra marks the beginning of festivities for everyone. It also gives us an opportunity to bond with neighbours and take the much needed break from hectic schedule,” said Ms. Moni Supriya, another resident of DLF Gardencity.

Dussehra, also known as Vijay Dashmi, symbolizes god Rama's victory over the demon Ravana. On this day,the towering effigy of Ravana is burnt with fireworks, symbolizing the victory of Good overEvil. The festival also starts the preparation for Diwali, the festival of lights, which is celebrated approximately twenty days after the Vijayadashmi.
