Ferozepur, March 14, 2013: The jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 2 kg heroin having international value of Rs.10 crores besides Rs.9.92 lakh fake Indian currency notes (FICN) on the intervening night of March 12-13 at around 11.45 pm.
Stating the details, BPS Jaswal, DIG BSF said, the troops of BSF have managed to stop the smuggling of heroine and FICN into Indian Territory when the movement of three Pakistani smugglers was noticed along with border out post (BOP) Mutianwali in Ferozpepur Sector who moved inside the Indian Territory and started throwing the packets over the barbed wire fencing.
On challenging by the BSF jawans, the Pakistani smugglers started firing and when there was back firing by the BSF jawans, the managed to go back under the cover of standing crops. During the thorough search operation of the area from where the Pakistani smugglers have entered, two packets of heroine and three packets of FICN were recovered. All the notes were in the denomination of Rs.500 each.
DIG further said, the BSF has already seized 54,120 kg heroin worth Rs.270 crores besides arms and ammunition besides arresting of three Pakistani nations for smuggling during this year.
