Gavakshit wins Quad copter Championship during International robotics league
Gavakshit wins the Quadcopter Championship Challenge during the 5th International robotics league and World Robotics Championship - Technoxian, organized by the All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA) at New Delhi. Gavakshit is a final year Mechanical Engineering student of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran who hails from Patiala, Punjab. He along with his team partner Rohit was amongst the teams displaying their prototypes at various categories. Participation from countries including Australia, Germany, Japan, Bangladesh, SriLanka was witnessed at the event.
“I assembled and fine tuned the drone in just 3 hours by recycling the parts of all the previous drones I have made till today including Motor, Speed controller, flight controller, wireless camera and transmitter. The drone has frame size of 280mm along with 310 mm propeller and it cleared the Qualifying round and finally entered the drone racing round by overcoming 9 hurdles in 56 seconds” shared the tech-master who has won a cash prize of Rs. 60,000 along with a Trophy. “My own startup, ‘Against the Gravity’ offers Drone services like Advertising, Air Ambulance, aerial cinematography, and Commercial Mapping at a very nominal price” he added.
While expressing his penchant towards drone making, he said, “Since childhood, I have had a keen interest in all those things which can fly. My grandfather was an Air Force officer and thus, I believe that the passion is in my blood. I have won various national and International events specific to drone racing and the prize money turns out to be my revenue generator always.”
