Dr. Sanjeev Uppal elected as President of Punjab State Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India

Ludhiana, September 27, 2016: Dr.Sanjeev Uppal, Head of Plastic Surgery at DMC & Hospital has been elected as the President of the Punjab State Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India in the annual conference held at Jalandhar . Dr Suresh Vasistha and Dr Subhash Aggarwal , President and Secretary of the Association of Surgeons of India installed Dr Uppal as President . Dr Sudershan Kapoor , Dr Chanjiv Singh and Dr Ravi Kamboj were elected the Vice President , Secretary and Treasurer respectively .

Talking to the reporter Dr. Sanjeev Uppal said that during his tenure of one year , the main stress will be on triad of “Better Knowledge – Better Facilities – Better Patient Care” amongst surgeons across the state of Punjab. Many Hands On Workshops and Continuous Medical Education programmes will be organized in all nooks and corners of Punjab . An effort will be made to bring Surgeons closer to the people through multimedia and live video transmission . The preventive campaign will be launched in the field of early detection of cancer and other diseases amongst the masses by the surgeons all over Punjab at regular intervals so as the disease can be detected at early stage and treated in a more efficient way , he said .
