Dr Kunal Jain recently joined DMCH as Assistant Professor in Medical Oncology. He has nine years of rich experience in Medical Oncology including professional training at some of the leading cancer centres of the country and abroad.

Dr Jain got three years of Oncology Training in Australia which included 2 years  as Senior Registrar in Medical Oncology at Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, Australia from 2008 to 2010 followed by 1 year as Research Fellow in Medical Oncology at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, Australia from 2010 to 2011.

During this tenure in Australia he had good experience in managing solid tumors, clinical trials and palliative care. He has worked in Medical Oncology departments at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Hospital prior to his training in Australia. He is a graduate and post-graduate from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana and joined as Head of Medical Oncology Unit at Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana after his training in Australia. He has been involved in various activities related to awareness about prevention and screening of cancer in our district. He has also been an invited speaker at many conferences at national level and has presented his research in international conferences.

Dr Kunal has special expertise in managing all solid tumors like cancers of breast, ovaries, lung, prostate, kidney, gastrointestinal system (colon, rectum, stomach, liver, pancreas, gall bladder), sarcomas, bone, brain and head & neck etc. Palliative Care is an essential component in managing terminally ill cancer patients to minimise suffering of the patients and their families. Dr Kunal has received special training in Palliative Care in Australia and also at Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Services, Kerala.
