Amritsar, March 17, 2015:  Rajbir Singh, a noted social worker and executive member, Pingalwara Society delivered "Dr. Gopal Singh Puri Memorial Lecture" on Human Life and Sewa (Service) here at the Guru Nanak Dev University. This lecture was held under the aegis of School of Punjabi Studies of the University in the Conference Hall of the University.

 Bibi Inderjit Kaur, President, All India Pingalwara Society presided over and Lady Vice-Chancellor, Sarvjit Kaur Brar, Principal, Khalsa College Public School was the chief guest on this occasion. A large numbers of students, research scholars and faculty members attended.

 H.S. Bhatia, Head of the School welcomed the guests and the audience and also honored guests with a memento on this occasion. Raminder Kaur, Coordinator of Lecture while introducing the guest writers, gave details about the guest speakers.  Gurmit Singh presented vote of thanks. On this occasion, Prof. Sukhdev Singh Khara, Dr. Suhinderbir, Kawaljit Jassal,  Harjit Kaur,  Darya and  Manjinder Singh were present.

 Rajbir Singh besides sharing his views leading to social services said that Pingalwara Society is providing best services to the society. He said that Bhagat Puran Singh, Founder of the All India Pingalwara Society dedicated his whole life in the service of mankind. He said that the members of this society are committed to follow the footsteps of Bhagat Puran Singh and are rendering their services without any personal gain.

While talking about the organic farming, he said that for the sake of the humanity pesticide free farming should be encouraged. He said that today we are suffering from many health alignments which is because of pesticides used in the farming. He also exhorted the students to contribute for the cause of polluted environment and create awareness campaigns.

 Bibi Inderjit Kaur in her presidential remarks also presented her views and said that our youth should learn lesson from our Great Gurus and saints who dedicated their lives for the noble cause of social service. Dr. Sarvjit Kaur Brar said that honest and dedicated services render to the education itself is a great service to the humanity. She said that apart from our routine work we should also involve ourselves in social work of any kind for the benefit of society. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
