Ludhiana, September 9, 2012: Ludhiana Academy hogged the limelight on the final day of the Mahindra NBA Challenge as they swept both the under-16 and under-18 boys titles at the Guru Nanak stadium here today.
Having entered both finals as the strong favourite, there was to be no twist in the script. In the first final of the day, the under-16 Ludhiana Academy lads produced a sparkling team effort to cruise to an 87-52 win over Multipurpose School, Patiala. Then later in the day, their under-18 counterparts ensured there would be another title for the institute to celebrate as Khushmeet’s 23 points spurred Ludhiana Academy to a 74-59 win over Patiala.
Two other finals were played on an eventful final day of the seven-week long event which has been held held in collaboration with the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and Punjab Basketball Association.
Government College, Ludhiana clinched the senior women’s crown after overcoming fancied Kapurthala 73-59 thanks to an outstanding performance by Kiranjeet who finished with a 35 point haul. Meanwhile, the senior men final saw Punjab Police beat BSF Jalandhar 82-66.
The day also witnessed a Club Mahindra Holidays Shooting Challenge and a Mahindra NBA Challenge Dunk contest.

Ludhiana Academy bt Multipurpose School, Patiala 87-52 (Top Scorer: Rahul 20 pts)
Senior Women final:
Government College Ludhiana bt Kapurthala 73-59 (Top Scorer: Kiranjeet 35 pts)
Senior Men final:
Punjab Police bt BSF. Jalandhar 82-66 (Top Scorer: Amritpal Singh 27 pts)
