Set in Varanasi, Chidiyaghar is the story of the Narayan family who live in a house called Chidiyaghar. A peculiar feature about this show is that all family members exhibit personality traits of different animals and have character names that match upto those traits. This unique quality of the show has widely appealed to the Indian audiences and the show recently crossed the five year benchmark.

We spoke to some of the actors in the show to understand if in real life, they identified with their animal traits showcased on-screen.

Paresh Ganatra who plays the character of Ghotak said, “I feel every human being resembles an animal depending on the people and situations they deal with. When I was offered the role of Ghotak in Chidiyaghar, I didn’t even take a minute to decide. I wanted to do the show due to its unique concept. Nothing like this has been tried on Indian television before.”

Aditi Sajwan said, “I definitely have the characteristics of Koyal. Just like her, I am known for my singing and soft-spoken skills. I am a romantic and mostly happy and smiling.”

Playing the role of Chuhiya is Trishika Tripathi “I like to walk fast like a rat and if given a holiday, I love to spend the whole day in my home. Hence, I am similar to a rat who loves to stay in her hole most of the times.”

Join in the Chidiyaghar’s 5th year celebration, every Monday to Friday, 9-9:30 pm only on Sony SAB!
