DMU train engine derails – major accident put off

Ferozepur, July 1, 2013: The DMU engine moving fast on Ferozepur-Jalandhar track detailed due to falling of tree on the track because of strong winds. 

However, the major accident was put off as there was no loss of life.

As per the sources, the DMU train 74932 was running on Ferozepur-Jalandhar track when near village Bootewala between Mallanwala-Makhu, the engine derailed by hitting the tree fallen on the track due to strong winds at 3.55 a.m. on Sunday. The front two wheels of the engine were derailed and major accident was put off. However, five trains including Bahtinda-Jammu Tavi train were affected for about five hours.
