Ludhiana, April 9, 2014: In recently-held World Health Day celebration, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital took a step forward in enhancing health information for the general public by officially releasing health-education related brochures by Secretary of DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta. Also present on the occasion were Vice President Amrit Nagpal, Principal Dr Daljit Singh, Vice Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Assistant Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal.
In his message to the audience, Dr Daljit Singh said that though the institution has been regularly conducting free medical check-up camps and health education lectures for the general public but for the long time, it was felt that public should be made more aware about health-related issues so that they can take adequate preventive measures and be on the much safer side from getting affected by various diseases and infections. The preparation of these brochures involved active participation of all the departments. A large number of faculty members contributed to this subject matter. Nursing faculty helped in translating the pamphlets to Punjabi so that people from large section of society can be benefitted.
The brouchers will be placed in OPD & Ward areas areas and also in Emergency and ICU Block, where it can be liberally used by patients and their attendants, said Dr Daljit Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta said that it has been due to the sheer teamwork of all faculty and other staff that DMCH has been successful in preparation of such brochures within a stipulated time period. The brochures are made into separate sections based on Scope of Services available in DMCH, various Health Education topics and Patient Education material for specific procedures and illness covering frequently asked questions (FAQs). A total of 488 brochures on different topics were released during the occasion.
