DMCH: Doctor from USA to deliver guest lecture

Ludhiana, January 23, 2013: A guest lecture on “Contemporary Surgical Management of Benign Hypertrophy of Prostate” by Dr Jaspreet S Sandhu from  Department of Urology, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre,  USA will be organised in Dumra Auditorium of  DMCH on January 25, informed Dr Baldev Singh Aulakh, Professor of Urology and President Urological Society of India (North-Zone).

One of the most common urological issues affecting the ageing male is benign enlargement of prostate. About 80% of men will develop enlargement of prostate and one third will need surgical intervention. The patients having prostate enlargement will suffer from increased frequency of urination, nocturia, hesitancy, urgency, and weak urinary stream. These symptoms typically appear slowly and progress gradually over a period of years.

Through this training session, we wish to prepare the next generation of surgeons and other healthcare professionals to update their knowledge regarding the current surgical management of prostate cancer
