Ludhiana, June 10, 2017: In its mission to provide excellent medical care for children coming to DMCH, Department of Pediatrics at DMCH has always been dedicated in creating a healthy future for all such children.

Dr Deepak Bhat, Professor of Pediatrics at DMCH, recently attended 35th International conference of “European Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases” (ESPID-2017) at Madrid, Spain.

.This is the biggest gathering of pediatric infectious disease specialists from all over the world, held once every year.

According to Dr Deepak Bhat, Pediatric infectious disease specialists from all parts of the world gather to discuss and update the recent advances in various childhood infectious diseases like dengue fever,typhoid fever,malaria,tuberculosis etc.

Keeping in view his expertise and interest in Pediatric infectious diseases, Dr Bhat delivered a guest lecture on “ Complications of Dengue fever in children” at this conference and participated in “Meet the Professor” session-an honour given to very few senior faculty. His two research papers on typhoid fever and tuberculosis were highly appreciated by the delegates. A total of 4,000 pediatricians participated in the conference.There were only few invited faculty from India including Dr Deepak Bhat.

Dr Deepak was impressed with the galaxy of world renowned specialists like Michael Carter(United Kingdom),Philipp Henneke(Germany),Pablo Rojo(Spain) to name a few. He invited them to visit DMCH in future to enlighten the specialist in this part of the country to benefit the children suffering from various infectious diseases like tuberculosis, dengue fever, chikengunya fever, malaria etc.
