DMCH conducts free eye check up camp at Gurudwara Sadh Sangat Haibowal

Ludhiana, August 3, 2014: Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana on Sunday conducted a free eye check up camp at Gurudwara Sadh Sangat Haibowal. Dr Sumeet Chopra, Associate Professor, Eye Department, examined more than 150 patients. 30 patients were identified for cataract surgery which will be done at concessional rates at DMCH.
Meanwhile, Dr Sumeet Chopra said that the incidence of Diabetes has increased tremendously in the past few years because of sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Diabetes can seriously damage the back film of the eye causing Diabetic Retinopathy which can lead to permanent loss of vision if not treated.
