New Delhi, November 14, 2012: Since ages, the worshipping of Account Books is an essential part of Diwali Puja for the business community in India besides worshipping Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi for prosperity of business. Keeping alive the same tradition but adopting a blend of modern electronic gadgets in their Diwali Puja, this year large number of Traders across the Country also worshipped I Pad, Laptop, Computer and Mobiles, signifying the beginning of up gradation and modernization of existing format of retail trade of India.

To save the retail trade from the clutches of global retailers in the wake of FDI in Retail, the traders also worshiped "Lord Hanuman”, who is the savior of crisis and more often called as “Sankatmochan”.

Initiating a new chapter the traders joined by leaders of farmers and hawkers organisations jointly performed the Diwali Puja and sent "E-Greetings" to President of India and leaders of different political parties and Chief Ministers of all States.
“ With the change of time and transformation of Government’s policies to ‘e-governance’ particularly in taxation laws and acts, the I Pad, Laptop and Computers have replaced account books and Mobile has become instrumental in conducting business in an efficient way therefore the electronic gadgets have become part of Diwali Puja from this year” said B. C. Bhartia, National President and Praveen Khandelwal, National Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), an apex body of the trading community of the Country.

In a pure spiritual atmosphere at CAIT Headquarters at Karol Bagh in New Delhi today, a Diwali Puja was performed with all customs and rituals by eminent religious scholars headed by Pandit Pramod Shastri chanting the Vedic Mantras.

The worshipping place was decorated with flowers, rose petals and traditional “Vandanwar”. Welcoming Diwali a portrait of “Indian Lala” holding the computer” depicted modernization of Indian trade. Small clay oil lamps (called Diyas) lit with mustard oil were lined to signify the prosperity through divine light.

Naresh Sirohi, General Secretary of Bhartiya Kisan Morcha and Shri Saudan Singh of National Hawkers Federation with other leaders joined the trade leaders of prominent trade associations of Delhi with equal participation of office staff of CAIT.
While beginning the puja, the scholars chanting the mantra “Ya Devi Sarvbhuteshu Laxmirupen Sansita- Namastasye, Namastasye Namastayah Namo Namah” called upon all God and Goddess to remain present in Diwali Puja as a witness for conducting the worshipping.

Amidst chanting of several mantras in Sanskrit, the scholars initiated worshipping with customary ‘sankalp’ by trade, farmer and hawkers leaders.

Both Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi were poured with milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, sugar (panchamrita) and were also liberally poured over the coins.
